The Florida Highway Patrol arrested a woman on multiple charges including DUI after she led them on a high-speed chase.

TAMPA, Fla. — A woman led troopers on a high-speed chase before she crashed into a tree and hit a fence while driving with a suspended license, troopers said.

Just after 1 a.m. on Sunday, a trooper tried to initiate a traffic stop on I-275 after seeing a Mercedes sedan driving without the headlights on. When the trooper tried to pull the driver over, she accelerated and drove off and reached speeds up to 130 mph with the speed limit being 60 mph, according to the arrest report.

She tried to exit at State Road 589 but was going so fast that she ran off the ramp and hit a tree, according to troopers.

Sahai Mata Flatts, 25, was identified as the driver of the vehicle and troopers said she had "red glossy eyes" and smelled like alcohol. The picture from the scene from Florida Highway Patrol shows the car destroyed.

She was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital and then placed under arrest just after 2:30 a.m. for multiple charges such as DUI and driving with a suspended license.

Her license was suspended for not submitting to a DUI test in May. Deputies said there were also other active suspensions.
