The Polk County Sheriff’s Office on Monday arrested a suspect accused of murdering another man and shooting at another.
James “Spooky” Williams, 36, is charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Williams faces the charges for the murder of Nassir Sutton, 23, and the shooting of Bennie Joiner, 38, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Williams on Monday night in the Carefree Cove neighborhood after Crime Stoppers tip led detectives to his location.
Deputies recovered a handgun in Williams’ arrest.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is set to speak on Williams' arrest at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Judd is also expected to speak about the arrest of a woman posing as a nurse performing medical procedures despite not having any medical degrees.
