WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Police are searching for people involved in a fight that turned into a deadly stabbing Thursday at a Publix location in Winter Haven.
According to the Winter Haven Police Department, a man was inside the store at Northgate Shopping Center near the customer service desk when a group of men came inside. This was when a fight broke out, police explain.
The man standing at the counter reportedly cut one of the other men in the group during the fight. The group ended up running from the store and leaving the scene.
After the fight, the man who was stabbed was dropped off at the entrance of the Winter Haven Emergency Department, where he was later pronounced dead. Police said the driver did not stay.
In an update Thursday night, police revealed photos of the people they are searching for.
The Publix location at 1395 Sixth Street NW was closed for several hours while police investigated on Thursday afternoon.
