SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 21-year-old man faces a second-degree murder charge for an Easter Sunday shooting that killed a mother of two children.

The St. Petersburg Police Department says Tyron Jackasal, already in the Pinellas County jail on unrelated charges, is accused of killing 35-year-old Emily Grot on April 4.

She was sitting inside a car near Wildwood Park when officers say Jackasal fired gunshots in the parking lot.

It's believed Grot wasn't targeted.

Jackasal previously had been charged with the shooting death of K'Mia Simmons, a young mother of two children as she sat in the car with them.
