COSTA RICA -- A security guard arrested in connection with the death of South Florida woman Carla Stefaniak was seen on video being taken away by police.

Costa Rican authorities lead Bismark Espinosa Martinez down a walkway before being placed into a police van.

The country's Judicial Investigation Department confirmed Wednesday that Stefaniak, who was missing for about a week, was killed. Her body was found buried in dirt at least 300 meters from the Airbnb villa where she had been staying for her 36th birthday.

Fingerprints and dental records were used to help identify Stefaniak, who investigators think had been dead for days.

"I wouldn't want anyone to have to come see a body in a state of decomposition," said Stefaniak's father, Carlos Caicedo, during a news conference.
