A Sarasota County high school teacher has been arrested on child porn charges, the county school district said.
The district said the Sarasota Police Department, assisting with a warrant from the Palmetto Police Department, arrested Quentin Peterson, 25, a math teacher at Booker High School, on charges of possessing child pornography.
According to the Palmetto Police Department, none of the students at Booker High School appeared to be affected by his actions.
WWSB reports police began investigating after allegations that Peterson was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student, outside of school.
During the investigation police say they located sexual images of a 16-year-old girl on Peterson's computer.
Peterson has been placed on administrative leave and will have no interaction with students as the district investigates.
He has been employed with Sarasota County Schools since Feb. 28, the district said.
