Police: 2 men die after altercation at Lido Key rental property

In an update, police said both men died from wounds inflicted by a knife.

SARASOTA, Fla. — Sarasota police are investigating after two men were found dead on Tuesday morning.

Police responded around 9 a.m. to the 700 block of South Boulevard of the Presidents on Lido Key. They arrived to find a 32-year-old man and a 50-year-old man dead.

Police said the men were involved in an altercation at a rental property that led to their deaths.

"Tragically, both individuals lost their lives as a result of the incident," the police department wrote.

The men reportedly knew each other and worked together. Investigators have not released the men's names as they are still working to notify their families.
