RUSKIN, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man wanted in Rutherford County, Tennessee for raping a child.
43-year-old Luis Martinez Morado was arrested on an active arrest warrant issued by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office for multiple charges, including sexual battery, which occurred between 2007 and 2011.
On Wednesday, Oct. 18, the U.S. Marshals Service’s Fugitive Task Force contacted the HCSO. They told them that an investigation they'd conducted found out that Morado had been going to a church and working at a restaurant in the Ruskin area. Detectives positively identified him as the man wanted for the Tennessee warrant and arrested him.
"My heart goes out to the victim who endured years without the justice they rightfully deserved following the heinous actions of this individual," Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement.
Morado is being charged by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office with seven counts of child rape and three counts of aggravated sexual battery.
No victims have been reported in Hillsborough County. But detectives are urging anyone whom Morado might have victimized to call the Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200.
