CLEARWATER, Fla. — A 63-year-old man from Palm Harbor was arrested Friday night after he drove on the wrong side of the road and crashed into a car carrying three small children, the Clearwater Police Department said in a news release.

Don Carr has been charged with DUI with property damage and cited for driving the wrong way and careless driving, officers said. The crash reportedly happened just after 9 p.m. Friday on Mandalay Avenue at Papaya Street on Clearwater Beach.

Carr was driving his 2005 Dodge Durango south in the northbound lanes before colliding with a 2024 Mazda SUV carrying a driver with three small children, the department said. They reportedly didn't suffer any injuries in the crash.

The 63-year-old was booked into the Pinellas County Jail after being checked out at the hospital, officers said.
