TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa lounge security guard is critically hurt and two men are behind bars after an argument spilled out of the lounge and turned into a shooting, police said.
It happened just before 3 a.m. Friday at the Pink Pussycat Lounge on N. Nebraska Avenue. Police said 26-year-old Ryan Moss and 27-year-old Kelvin Duran got into an argument that turned physical with the 25-year-old security guard. The argument spilled out of the club into the parking lot before Moss and Duran got into their car.
But it didn't end there. According to police, Moss and Duran drove their car to the car entrance and stopped. When the security guard walked out of the building, police said Moss, who was in the front passenger seat, pointed a gun out the window and fired, hitting the guard in the stomach.
The security guard fired back at the car, causing Duran to crash into another car, the agency said. The exchange of gunfire reportedly injured three men who weren't involved, but police said they were treated and only suffered minor injuries.
Tampa police said officers arrived quickly at the lounge and took Moss and Duran into custody without incident.
The guard was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Police said he is listed in critical condition but is considered "stable."
Moss was charged with attempted first-degree murder and four counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Duran was charged with principal to attempted first-degree murder and principal to aggravated battery with great bodily harm or deadly weapon. Both men were taken to the Orient Road Jail, police said.
