PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies are seeking the public's help in finding a bicyclist accused of robbing a man in a wheelchair on Father's Day.
The robbery occurred around 7:35 p.m. Sunday, June 16 at the intersection of 44th Avenue North and 31st Street North, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. The suspect, who was riding a bike at the time, reportedly approached a man in a wheelchair and stole his cell phone from a lanyard around his neck.
The suspect is described as a 40-year-old white man who was wearing a black hat and carrying a backpack at the time of the robbery, according to the sheriff's office.
The man who was robbed has a medical condition that makes it difficult for him to speak, deputies said.
