Original Story on Friday, Jan. 27, 2018: HOLIDAY, Fla. - The Pasco County Sheriff's Office released a sketch of a man accused of trying to grab a 10-year-old girl off her bike.

The sheriff's office said the attempted kidnapping happened around 5:51 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Whippoorwill Drive and Jarvis Street.

Pasco County detective Daniel Toner said the man is between ages 40-60.

Toner said the interaction between the man and girl started when the man complimented the 10-year-old's bike. The girl initially thought the interaction was cordial, Toner said.

The man then asked where the girl was headed, according to Toner. The man then ran towards the girl.

Toner said the girl felt the man tug on the hood of her sweatshirt as she continued to ride her bike.

The suspect is described as a shorter adult with long, dark hair, a full beard with gray spots. He was wearing a light blue shirt with holes in it, light-colored shorts and gray socks. Deputies said he was not wearing shoes.

During Friday morning's news conference, Toner said the sheriff's office does not have surveillance footage of the suspect.

"We're treating it as a worst case scenario until we find out otherwise," Toner said.
