TAMPA, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested another man said to be connected to a homicide that happened back in November in Tampa.

At around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, deputies responded to the area of Rock Harbour Way on reports of a stabbing, according to the sheriff's office. Once on scene, they reportedly found a man with upper body trauma and took him to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after, the sheriff's office said.

Ja'Quan Glymp, 34, was initially arrested in connection to the death of the man. Now in an update, the agency says 23-year-old Shamek Carter-Bowick was also arrested.

Carter-Bowick was taken into custody in North Carolina and is now facing charges of premeditated first-degree murder, robbery while wearing a mask (firearm or deadly weapon) and armed burglary of a structure with assault or battery.

"For weeks, our detectives have relentlessly pursued every lead. Through their tireless work, our deputies have once again demonstrated the strength of our commitment to public safety. With the arrest of the second suspect in this homicide case, we can offer this grieving family the closure they deserve," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. "We are immensely grateful for the collaboration of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

"This arrest is just another example of the teamwork, dedication, and unity that lies within the law enforcement community.”

The investigation continues into the incident at this time.
