CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Clearwater man was arrested for using obscenities and striking a woman with his shoulder due to her opposing political views, according to authorities.
It happened just before noon on Saturday outside the Clearwater courthouse on Court Street.
Police say 32-year-old Andrew Francis was approaching the crosswalk when he "made numerous aggressive actions and
used verbal obscenities toward an opposing political group."
After he crossed the street, Francis "intentionally struck" the woman with his shoulder, causing her to "lose her balance," according to an arrest affidavit.
Francis was charged with one misdemeanor count of simple battery and booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
