Pinellas Park, Florida -- With help from the public, Pinellas Park Police have identified the man who robbed a woman at a drive-up ATM.

From ATM photos, detectives assigned to this case were able identify Steven Neidl as the suspect who was already at the Pinellas County Jail being held on an unrelated charge. Neidl was in jail for a crime he committed on hour before the ATM robbery.

On May 26, officers responded to call of a residential burglary that just occurred in the 8000 block of 53rd Way N. It was reported that an unknown subject, later identified as Neidl, entered a home through a garage door. The victim and his 16-year-old son were sitting in the living room when Neidl entered his home. When confronted Neidl he ran from the home and he called 911.

The victim did not report anything missing, and believed his presence in the home kept the man from stealing anything. Neidl then went and robbed the woman at the ATM at the Bank of America at 5100 Park Blvd.

Neidl's response when asked why he committed these crimes was that all he could remember was smoking "spice" in a park and than being chased down the street.

Neidl was booked into the Pinellas County Jail for Burglary to an Occupied Dwelling. He remains in jail on the burglary charge as well as the added Robbery charge.
