Roelmer Fabriso, 18, was arrested and is facing second-degree murder charges.

PLANT CITY, Fla. — Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a teen who allegedly stabbed someone to death Friday in Plant City, the agency said in a news release.

Roelmer Fabriso, 18, is facing charges of second-degree murder with a weapon, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies responded to reports of a stabbing around 1 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23 on Bob Smith Avenue. They found the victim with severe injuries to his upper body, according to the sheriff's office.

That person was taken to the hospital where they later died from their injuries, the sheriff's office said.

An investigation revealed the stabbing was a result of an argument that had escalated between Fabriso and the victim, deputies said.

In the release, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister stated, "any argument, no matter how intense, should never result in the loss of life."

"Violence is not and will never be accepted in our county," Chronister stated"We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of every resident, and we will hold those who resort to violence accountable."

The victim's name will be released once next of kin has been notified, the sheriff's office said.

The investigation is reportedly ongoing.
