ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 28-year-old man was charged with second-degree murder on Tuesday after police say he shot and killed his roommate nearly two years ago.
On the morning of Dec. 29, 2021, Keondre Flournoy and 47-year-old Qareeb Muhammad were involved in a fight in the area of 17th Avenue South and 21st Street South, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.
Flournoy reportedly shot Muhammad during the fight.
Police say they then found the 47-year-old in a field with a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say Flournoy has been in jail since November for unrelated charges.
