PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Pasco County sheriff’s detectives arrested a man accused of stealing drugs and up to $18,000 cash from a pharmacy store.
William Hennessey Jr., 37, is accused of stealing a safe with oxymorphone, oxycodone, morphine, methadone, fentanyl patches and cash on March 23 from the Suncoast Pharmacy at 6237 Ridge Road in Port Richey.
Pasco County detectives received information on Monday from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office of Hennessey’s identity. Deputies found Hennessey’s silver Nissan 350Z in Wesley Chapel the same day.
On Wednesday, deputies received a search warrant of Hennessey’s home. Deputies found about 3,965 oxycodone pills in the truck of the Nissan and $550 in Hennessey’s wallet.
Hennessey initially denied involvement, but deputies said he ended up admitting to the burglary. Deputies found more the 21,000 pills while conducting the search warrant.
According to the sheriff’s office, Hennessey said he paid $4,400 for a motorcycle with money from the burglary. Deputies took the motorcycle from Hennessey.
Additional charges are pending once deputies count the pills.
