LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — After three years as a fugitive for allegedly assaulting Capitol Police officers on Jan. 6, 2021, Jonathan Pollock of Lakeland, Florida, is finally in custody, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.
Two others accused of being involved in the Capitol attack, including his sister, have also been arrested.
Pollock, according to the FBI, attacked multiple police officers with a deadly weapon during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. A $30,000 reward for Pollock's capture has been active since September 2022 when it was doubled from $15,000.
Pollock, along with two others facing charges related to Jan. 6 — his sister, Olivia Pollock, and friend, Joseph Hutchinson — were arrested early Saturday at a ranch in Groveland, a city located in Lake County. The FBI says all three are set to appear Monday, Jan. 8 in federal court in Ocala.
"Mr. Pollock is a fugitive," FBI Tampa Special Agent in Charge David Walker said in a previous statement. "We are asking the public to provide information on his whereabouts so that we can safely bring him in to answer to the charges against him."
During his time as a fugitive, the FBI believed Pollock had friends and family in central and north Florida, in addition to Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Law enforcement said he is a welder and ironworker, by trade, and may have been working in this or similar construction jobs.
According to an indictment, Jonathan Pollock, his sister Olivia Pollock, and three other men – Hutchinson, Joshua Doolin and Michael Perkins – traveled around the U.S. Capitol grounds as a group during the riot. In dozens of images collected from body-worn cameras and other footage of the day, investigators say the group can be seen repeatedly clashing with police.
Perkins and Doolin have previously been arrested.
The Department of Justice said Pollock, wearing a MultiCam camouflage outfit with "distinctive military morale patches" on the front, can be seen leaping over other fallen rioters to continue attacking police, according to earlier reporting. Images in the indictment appear to show him tackling and punching officers, and then grabbing another by the neck and forcing him to the ground.
