ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A person is dead after authorities responded to a "check welfare" call, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.
Officers say they received the call at 7:38 p.m. Monday from someone who said they could not contact their friend for hours and were concerned about their well-being.
Police reportedly arrived at a home in the area of 11th Street North and 102nd Avenue North where they found a man dead on the floor with upper body trauma.
On Tuesday, police were able to identify him as 49-year-old Timothy Pustelak.
The investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
