Florida man arrested for death threats against Donald Trump, JD Vance

The threats were uncovered just days after an assassination attempt on the former U.S. president during a rally in Pennsylvania.

JUPITER, Fla. — A Florida man was arrested after officers found death threats he had written online against former U.S. President Donald Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance, the Jupiter Police Department said in a news release.

Michael Wiseman is facing charges of written threats to kill after an investigation found he had posted threats against Trump, Vance and their families on social media, police said.

The threats were found just days after an assassination attempt on Trump during a rally on Saturday, July 13 in Pennsylvania. One spectator was killed and the 20-year-old gunman was found and killed by the Secret Service.

Officers were reportedly made aware of the threats through numerous online tips and Jupiter residents expressing concerns in person. Investigators found multiple threats on Wiseman's Facebook page, including threats of bodily harm against Trump and Vance's families.

Jupiter police worked in conjunction with the U.S. Secret Service and the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office to take Wiseman into custody, officers said.
