SPRING HILL, Fla. — A Hernando County elementary school teacher was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly sent inappropriate sexual messages to a 14-year-old via an online dating app, authorities said.

Deltona Elementary teacher Michael Iannaccone, 47, is charged with transmission of material harmful to a minor by electronic device or equipment and unlawful use of a two-way communication device, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Iannaccone reportedly knew the teen he was communicating with was underage. The teen told deputies Monday that the teacher talked about sexual acts that he liked and that he would teach him, the sheriff's office said.

Soon after, detectives went undercover online using the teen's account, according to the sheriff's office. Iannaccone continued to discuss sex acts that he would like to try with the teen, and the investigation later revealed that he was having these online discussions while inside the school.

Iannaccone was arrested at the Hernando County School District office on Broad Street in Brooksville, the sheriff's office said. He reportedly admitted to using the app to knowingly discuss sexual acts with the 14-year-old.

At this time, Iannaccone has been booked in the Hernando County Detention Center on a $4,500 bond. Anyone with information on the case can contact Hernando County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-990-TIPS (8477).
