FHP investigating hit-and-run that left bicyclist seriously injured in Pinellas Park

This Toyota emblem was recovered by FHP investigators responding to a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a cyclist Sunday in Pinellas Park.

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that left a 20-year-old St. Pete bicyclist seriously injured Sunday in Pinellas Park.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m. when the unknown driver of a dark-colored Toyota sedan struck the cyclist on 62nd Avenue and 42nd Street, FHP said in a news release.  

The cyclist was reportedly taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Debris recovered at the crash included an emblem from the Toyota, according to FHP. Anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run is asked to call *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
