TAMPA, Fla. — A woman died after being shot just early Saturday morning in Tampa.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to a report of a shooting just before 1:30 a.m. on Michael Lane.
When they arrived, they found several shell casings in the street and the woman dead inside the home with a gunshot wound, according to a news release from deputies.
"It is one of our deputies' greatest heartbreaks having to deliver the news to a family that their loved one is gone due to a senseless act of violence," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in the release. "Now, our detectives are tasked with the utmost responsibility of solving the unknowns around this investigation. We are committed to bringing this family closure."
Detectives believe it is an isolated incident and are investigating.
