NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A retired NYPD officer is accused of domestic aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after investigators say he held a gun to his wife’s head for not cleaning the couple’s home or keeping up with the laundry.
According to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit, Stephen Pascone, 60, became irate and told his wife of 23 years, “I’ll f-----g kill you! Look at this bullet. You’ll have no brains left! I’ll bury you somewhere! I’ll splatter your brains all over that f-----g wall and go to jail!” as he held a revolver to her head.
Later, the report says he came back with a different handgun, held it to her right temple and made his wife get on her knees as he scolded her for not cleaning the house, telling her that she’d better listen to him.
In a police interview with the victim, she reportedly said Pascone had been abusing her physically, verbally and emotionally for years. Court records show that Pascone has an open case in which he’s accused of strangling his wife and throwing her in the pool in August 2018. She cannot swim.
The incidents with the guns happened in 2017, but the arrest was only made on Feb. 26 due to the victim not initially reporting the abuse due to being afraid Pascone would kill her, according to the report.
During the investigation into the 2018 abuse, the state attorney’s office found evidence of the allegations and issued a warrant for yesterday’s third-degree felony arrest. Pascone turned himself in.
The former police officer is being held in the Pasco County jail on $100,000 bond. He is ordered to have no contact with his wife, who court records show has filed for divorce.
