TAMPA, Fla. — A man died from his injuries after he was shot at his apartment complex early Sunday morning.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating after they responded to a call just after 2 a.m. of a 24-year-old being shot at the Royal Palm Key Apartments.
He was shot in the chest and taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the sheriff's office.
The victim lived with his girlfriend who called 911 after the shooting, deputies said at a news conference Sunday morning.
Deputies said they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. No arrests have been made.
