Clearwater, Florida -- Of eight people police grabbed and questioned after shooting chaos near the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach, four ended up under arrest. Now, we're learning about those suspects.
Their ages range from 20 to 31. Three of them face weapons charges.
The one with the most counts is Jeffrey Grier. He's looking at six charges, including drug possession and weapons possession by a felon.
10 News gathered cell phone video from right after the shootings happened as sunset approached on Memorial Day, outside the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach. You can watch it in this video story.
Police say an argument between two groups exploded into a shooting with at least three separate scenes. Some shots even rained down from the Hyatt parking garage above.
The two people who were shot should survive. Police say they are not random bystanders -- they are part of this -- and it all could have a gang connection.
10 News spoke with people who work at the Hyatt resort, people visiting from out of town, and folks who live out on Clearwater Beach.
The hotel workers seemed the least concerned.
"We're not worried. I don't think there's anything to worry about. I think the police handled everything last night," said Monica Ellison, who works in one of the hotel's restaurants. "Hopefully, the guests won't be turned off by it -- you know, things happen."
The tourists were anxious, but still ready to come back.
"We're not feeling good, you know? Just not feeling good, you see -- me, coming on vacation from Orlando," tourist Xhevat Bajrami said as he walked toward the Gulf, holding hands with his wife.
The locals who live at the beach had the most extreme reactions -- worried and upset.
"The type of person that's coming to a beautiful family beach. Shoot 'em up? Bang bang? It's riff-raff! We can do without it here in Clearwater Beach," fired-up resident Bill Bhame said during his morning stroll along the beach.
We are holding Clearwater Police accountable. We want to know what they're doing to make sure we don't see a repeat of this during the next big holiday weekend. 10 News has asked for an interview with police leadership, and that request has been granted; it's set for this afternoon.
