PLANTATION, Fla. — A child is seriously hurt after they were in a car with their mother that was shot at multiple times while driving on a road Saturday night in South Florida, authorities say.
The Plantation Police Department told CBS Miami that the shooting occurred at around 10:15 p.m. near the 6900 block of West Sunrise Boulevard when the 20-year-old mother was shot at while having her 5-year-old child in the car.
According to WTVJ-TV, the child was grazed by a bullet.
The 5-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The mother was not hurt during the incident, CBS Miami reports.
Police said they have not yet made any arrests. The investigation of the shooting remains ongoing.
