Armored truck workers robbed while servicing Florida ATM

The armored truck workers were servicing an ATM Monday morning in Jacksonville when they were robbed by two people wearing black clothing, masks, and gloves.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Armored truck workers were servicing an ATM Monday morning in the 3000 block of Lenox Avenue when they were accosted by two people carrying rifles. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the suspects were wearing all-black clothing, black masks, and black gloves.

Jacksonville police were called to Alive Credit Union at about 7:45 a.m. for the robbery. The assailants got away with an unknown amount of cash and drove off westbound on Lenox Avenue in a dark-colored, possibly black, sedan. Police said the suspected vehicle could have been a Toyota Camry.

No injuries were reported

"They were pretty brave to do this, especially with armed employees who were on the scene." JSO Lt. Chris Stevens said during a news conference Monday morning.

JSO detectives are working with the FBI to conduct interviews and review surveillance footage.
