TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect they say committed an armed robbery at a local motel.
Authorities said this happened just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, at the Econo Lodge Airport @ RJ Stadium located off of North Dale Mabry Highway and West Cayuga Street.
The department released a video recording showing the suspect robber, who's seen wearing a maroon and white baseball hat, a red shirt and multi-colored shorts. The footage shows him walking into the lobby and then pulling a gun out while reaching behind the desk when someone was standing behind it.
Police said the unidentified man threatened a clerk with the gun while demanding they give him money from the cash register. Nobody was reported injured.
He left the motel after taking the money, officials said.
