Armed robbery suspects lead police on high-speed chase

Two teenaged men fled officers at New Port Richey after allegedly robbing two 19-year-old men at gunpoint.

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Police have two suspects in custody after a high speed chase beginning in New Port Richey. 

Police claimed that shortly before 2 a.m. at Sims Park, the two suspects, both teenagers, were initially caught beating and robbing two 19-year-old men who knew the two suspects. They also said one of the suspects took a gun from one of the men they robbed and then beat up the other victim.

When the two suspects saw police, they ran away, leading officers on a high speed chase through Trinity, Gunn Highway in Tampa, and US Hwy 19 and Blackburn Street in Clearwater.

The two suspects are now facing armed robbery charges. The man they physically assaulted is in the hospital.
