TAMPA, Fla. – Amateur rapper George Chronister awaits sentencing after pleading no contest to an aggravated battery charge.

Investigators say the son of Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister pulled a knife on another local rapper and slashed his face on Feb. 27, 2017.

On Oct. 28, the victim’s mother wrote a letter to the judge asking for the maximum sentence.

“[George Chronister] was more concerned with his image on social media than human life,” the mother wrote in the letter. “He wears this assault as it were a badge."

“He’s proud of it," she wrote. "He’s not the least bit remorseful or sorry.”

The younger Chronister – who goes by the rap name Zchronik – released a song called “Slash Yo Face” on June 18, 2017. The song has nearly 6,000 views on YouTube.

"George Chronister even had the audacity to make a song titled 'Slash Yo Face,'" the victim's mother wrote. "This is sociopathic behavior."

The mother of the victim also alleges her son received death threats from Chronister’s followers, who are accused of calling her son “a snitch” on social media.

“George Chronister has openly enjoyed being in the limelight due to the publicity of this case,” the mother wrote. “He believes a light sentence will boost his street cred and promote his music career."

“This is disgraceful," she explained. "He has bragged about scarring my son, nearly taking out an eye. My son will wear this scar for life.”

Chronister’s sentencing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
