PORT RICHEY, Fla. — The aftermath of a fatal shooting in Port Richey was captured by A&E's Live PD.

Pasco County deputies said a man fatally shot his neighbor Saturday night in the area of 10300 County Lake Drive.

Deputies said Joshua Ellis, 34, was at home arguing with a woman when his 39-year-old neighbor stepped outside his house to see what was happening. The neighbor stayed on his property, law enforcement said, as Ellis approached and made a threat to kill him.

While on the phone with 911, the neighbor fired one shot into Ellis' chest with a 9mm handgun, deputies said. Ellis was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The investigation is ongoing. No one has been placed under arrest.

The Live PD episode aired Saturday night and shows the aftermath of the Pasco shooting about 46 minutes in.

The video shows Pasco Corporal Mitch Bollenbacher and Deputy Nick Carmack and K-9 Shep responding to a "neighbor vs. neighbor" incident. The two say one man is down in the front yard.

The show then cuts to another law enforcement agency. When it cuts back to Pasco, deputies are seen walking a handcuffed man to a sheriff's vehicle. The man asks them, "does he still have a pulse?" and deputies say, "yes."

The man appears to have blood on his hands.

A few minutes later, Carmack explains there was a confrontation between a man and a woman, and the neighbor came over to ask the woman if she wanted him to call the police. Carmack said the woman said yes.

The deputy said the person who was killed ran up to the neighbor. Carmack said the neighbor asked him to back up a few times, pulled a gun out and said he needs to back off. He said the man continued to do that while on the phone with 911.

Carmack said the man said, "Shoot me. I'm going to kill you. Shoot me" and charged at the neighbor. When the neighbor shot the man, he holstered his gun and immediately began doing CPR, Carmack said.

"It sounds like it was some type of self-defense," Carmack said in the video.

Deputies said someone at the scene had the whole thing on video, so they are watching that as part of the investigation. In the meantime, you can catch the clip that aired on Live PD below.
