3 teens arrested in shooting that killed 1, injured 2 others in Spring Hill apartment

All three suspects are being held without bond.

SPRING HILL, Fla. — Three teenagers are behind bars after deputies connected them to the death of a 16-year-old boy in Spring Hill.

Officials with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office say they responded to the Publix located at Mariner Commons for reports of a shooting near the area.

When they arrived, investigators reported finding several victims around a vehicle parked near the store.

The sheriff's office says five teenage boys were in a vehicle that drove to the Publix after a shooting at the Mariner's Cay Apartments, located near Mariner Boulevard and Northcliffe Boulevard.

The teens began taking gunfire as they were entering the apartment complex, leading them to immediately leave and drive to the Mariner Commons. That was when one of the teens went inside the Publix to ask for help, an HCSO news release says.

Deputies say three of the five teens in the vehicle were suffering from gunshot wounds. One of them, a 16-year-old boy, was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Two other teens, 15 and 17 years old, were also taken to a local hospital, but officials say they are expected to make a full recovery.

Authorities later identified the suspects as 18-year-old Tarian Rush, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old. 10 Tampa Bay is not identifying the minors due to their age.

Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a feud between some of the teenagers who were recently in a physical fight.

Rush is facing charges of second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The 17-year-old suspect faces charges of second-degree murder and accessory after the fact.

The 15-year-old is charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.

Rush and the two teens were transported to the Hernando County Detention Center. Rush is being held without bond, while the two minors were later transported to the juvenile detention center in Ocala and are also being held without bond.
