AUBURNDALE, Fla. — A 26-year-old man was arrested after three people were sent to the hospital following a shooting Saturday night in Auburndale, according to an update from police.
Xavier Rakim Roberts has been charged with three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, which is a second-degree felony, Auburndale police say.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, crews from the Auburndale Police Department and the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to a home off of Allred Drive after neighbors reportedly heard gunfire.
Detectives say an "ongoing feud in the neighborhood" escalated to a fight and then to gunfire.
One of the victims, who is underage, is believed to be a bystander and was not involved in the fight, according to police.
As of now, one of the victims has been released from the hospital while the other two are still being treated, but are reported to be in good condition.
This investigation into this shooting is still ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call the Auburndale Police Department at 863-965-5555.
