MIAMI — Three people, including a child, died in an apparent murder-suicide Friday morning at a Chase bank in Miami.
A Miami-Dade police officer was patrolling the area of Southwest 152nd Avenue and Bird Road when he heard gunshots just before 8 a.m., according to CBS Miami. He located the sound and found a man, woman and child dead in the parking lot of the Chase bank.
The woman and child were waiting in a minivan in the drive-thru ATM lane when the man pulled up in the other lane and shot them before shooting himself, according to the news outlet. Video from the scene showed a silver BMW with its doors open next to the minivan.
Miami-Dade Police Department Detective Luis Sierra told CBS Miami that investigators are trying to figure out the relationship between the three people. While the ages of the victims were not identified yet, the child was in a car seat at the time, Sierra said.
WSVN reported that one firearm has been recovered, but there is a possibility of another.
