SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — Sumter County deputies arrested a 16-year-old boy Saturday night after he allegedly stabbed a teen to death and injured an adult during a sleepover in Wildwood.

Alexander Hernandez is reportedly charged with first-degree premeditated murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and armed burglary after he appeared unannounced at 15-year-old Connor Gill's sleepover before stabbing him to death, Sumter County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

The incident reportedly occurred around 10:11 p.m. After Hernandez stabbed Gill, he threatened someone else before stabbing an adult who came in to see what was happening, authorities said.

Hernandez then fled on foot before both Gill and the adult were airlifted to area hospitals for further treatment. Deputies said they were able to take Hernandez into custody after a helicopter search.

Gill reportedly succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:19 a.m. Sunday. The adult is still receiving treatment for his injuries in ICU, according to deputies.

Hernandez still had his weapons on him when he was caught, Sumter County Undersheriff Pat Breeden said on Facebook.

"This was, no doubt, a premeditated and targeted attack," Breeden said.

Breeden went on to say that Hernandez told detectives that he ordered the two weapons he used to kill Gill and attack the adult online.

"When the weapons arrived on Saturday, he unpacked the weapons, played with them for a little bit, and then we walked nearly six miles to the victim's residence," Breeden said.

The sheriff's office says the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges against Hernandez are pending.
