ATLANTA — Tears greeted the faces of two single metro Atlanta moms on Tuesday as they were gifted the opportunity of a lifetime by NFL legend and former Atlanta Falcons player Warrick Dunn.

"This means the world to us -- stability, peace, generational wealth. Passing it on down to them so that we can make it happen. It's just one of my dreams, and I'm very happy. We are so grateful," said one of the moms, Christine.

According to Warrick Dunn Charities, Christine works in the customer service industry. Her daughters have been dreaming of having their own yard to play in, and their mother worked hard to give them that dream.

Dunn partnered with Habitat for Humanity to surprise the two moms with a $5,000 down payment assistance check and helped the moms save $10,000 worth of furnishing from Aaron's.

The contributions helped the two moms already working on buying their first homes, a dream come true. Each new home was earned and financed through Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.

Genair worked as an orthopedic technician in Atlanta for over 40 years. According to the nonprofit, she is planning to share her home with her grandchildren, who are all entrepreneurs.

"I am overjoyed and overwhelmed. I am happy, thankful and grateful to God. I was totally blown away. It means everything to me. Don't give up, keep going, just do everything in your power to make it happen," Genair said.

He was first drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1997, played six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons as one of the NFL's most prestigious running backs.

On Tuesday, he shared his excitement for the two latest homeowners.

"The little girls were just so excited to walk in, and the reactions and expressions, those things really stand out," Dunn added.
