INVERNESS, Fla. — Law enforcement wants to put this missing person's case front and center once again, now two years later: Where is Carol McHugh?
The 72-year-old mother and grandmother disappeared after she went for a walk on June 8, 2017, on East Regency Row in the Seven Lakes subdivision off Sandpiper Drive in Inverness.
She did not have any food, water and medication with her.
"Even on this two-year anniversary of Carol’s disappearance, we remain steadfast in the search for answers in Carol’s disappearance," Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast said on Facebook. "The McHugh family deserves closure and we will unwaveringly continue our search to find Carol.
"Please keep Carol and her family in your prayers as we continue our investigation into this missing persons case."
The sheriff's office searched the area for five days and came up short.
McHugh is 5 foot, 1 inch tall and weighs about 113 pounds. She has brown hair and last was seen wearing what's depicted in the picture.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Ricci at the sheriff's office at 352-726-1121. Tips can anonymously be reported to Crime Stoppers at 1-888-ANY-TIPS -- a reward of $3,000 is available.
