ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The next best thing to being rinkside as the Tampa Bay Lightning begin its drive for the Stanley Cup on Wednesday is to gather with fans at a watch party.
The official Lightning watch party will be at Curtis Hixon Park, featuring a concert by the band Cage the Elephant at 5:15 p.m.
There will be drink specials, food trucks, a chance to meet Lightning alum, giveaways and more.
Local sports bars will also be hosting parties and offering specials for the game. Here's a partial list:
Ferg's, 1320 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, will have DJs and offer Lightning shots on the Surround Sound Party Deck.
Overflow Brewing Company, 770 1st Ave. N, St. Petersburg, will be projecting the game on the side of its building, as well as showing the game inside.
The Avenue Eat + Drink, 330 1st Ave. S., St. Petersburg, plans a watch party for every playoff game. It will offer food and drink specials and outdoor games.
Big Storm Brewing Co., 12707 49th Street N., Clearwater. They will be giving $1 off pours for fans in Bolts or Big Storm gear. Watch its Facebook page for more details.
Red Star Rock Bar, 5210 N Florida Ave., Tampa, will show the game outside and offer drink specials.
The District Tavern, 116 N. 12th Street, Tampa. Free Lightning shot when the Bolts score.
The Sail, 333 S Franklin Street, Tampa, is planning a watch party. Watch its Facebook page for details.
Stilt House Brewery, 625 US 19 Alt., Palm Harbor, will hold a watch party in its beer garden.
