Bay area census data shows interesting trends

We're taking a closer look at new census data showing some interesting trends in Tampa and St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- We're taking a closer look at new census data showing some interesting trends in Tampa and St. Petersburg.

The data shows everything from how many of households have pets to how many people are renting their homes.

Looking at over a million, the report shows just over half the homes are owned: 27% are rentals, 15% are vacant, and 5% are seasonal units.

Twenty-five percent of Bay area homes include families with children and there are a good number of pet lovers too: 53% of homes have pets.

More statistics show:

  • 85% have a garage or carport
  • 25% have four bedrooms or more

Many of you like to spend time outside: 92-percent have a porch, deck, balcony, or patio.
