"It's been real difficult. It's frustrating and a lot of inappropriate stuff."
Scot Ellis can't say much until it's all over, but when he can, he'll have a crazy story to tell.
This after Richard and Joy Ringer, who live next door, are hauled off to jail for being quote "neighbors from hell."
"Maybe they'll move, maybe they'll calm down. You get a slap on the hand and it wakes people up. Maybe this will wake them up," said Ellis.
The Ringers are charged with aggravated stalking. This arrest affidavit from the Polk County Sheriff's Office describes a two year pattern of harassment:
"The Ringers took photos and videos of Mr. and Mrs.Ellis. They engaged in verbally abusive remarks, aimed security lights directly into their windows at night, and made threats on their lives and that of their pets."
Investigators say the Ringers destroyed a fence, put up surveillance cameras and these intimidating signs, and took extreme exception to Marion's mom's french nationality, calling her a "frog." Marion recorded the Ringers saying quote:
"A spiteful bitch, you are."
"I admit I pulled up the fence."
"Everybody hates you."
"You can't touch my property, bitch. Stay the f*** off of it."
The Ringers also took exception to Scot being a watersport pro...skiing and boating on the lake behind their home. Every city or county agency the Ringers complained to dismissed the cases.
"We don't do anything wrong, just somebody didn't like it," said Ellis.
The Ringers had their first appearance in court at 1pm Thursday. Richard's bond was set at 6-thousand dollars. Joy's at 5-thousand.
