Three people were killed when a small plane crashed near Hobby Airport Thursday afternoon, according to the Houston Fire Department.
The single-engine SR20 crashed in the parking lot of an Ace Hardware Store. It destroyed an employee's vehicle, but no one on the ground was hurt.
The plane went down a few yards from a large propane tank but there was no fire, according to HFD. Reporters were moved away from the scene as a precaution.
An employee inside the store said it sounded like a "loud boom."
It happened on Telephone Road near Airport, northwest of the airport.
The plane is registered in Moore, Oklahoma.
