TAMPA, Florida -- Tampa Police have identified the two people killed in a crash on 40th Street and MLK Jr. Blvd. Sunday afternoon.
Just after 3 p.m., fire rescue crews responded the scene of the crash and found a Saturn sedan had rear-ended a trailer parked at Schwend Inc.
Authorities say it appeared the car had been speeding south on 40th Street when it went through a fence and hit the trailer.
The driver, 36-year-old Dammond Livingston was taken to Tampa General Hospital as a trauma alert where he later died.
Myesha Castro, 27, who was sitting in the front passenger seat at the time of the crash, died at the scene.
A 12-year-old boy who was in the back seat was treated and released at the scene.
All three occupants were wearing their seat belts.
