Panera Bread now selling groceries while shut down during pandemic

The service, called Panera Grocery, gives customers the option to order grocery products along with the fast-casual chain's usual menu items.

Many restaurants across the country are closed to dine-in customers because of the coronavirus. So, Panera Bread is now selling bread, bagels, milk, fresh produce and other staples to people who are staying home.

The service, called Panera Grocery, gives customers the option to order grocery products along with the fast-casual chain's usual menu items including sanwiches, soups, salads and treats from the bakery.

Panera Bread said it lost half its business once its dining rooms closed.

Customers can use Panera's app, the company's website or Grubhub to order groceries for delivery or pickup.
