Floridians who get minimum wage will start 2019 with more in their paychecks.
Effective Jan. 1, the minimum wage in Florida is $8.46, up from $8.25. In 2017, the rate was $8.10.
The minimum wage is recalculated every year on Sept. 30 based on the Consumer Price Index.
Employees who are not paid the minimum wage may bring a civil action against their employer or any person violating Florida's minimum wage law.
