TAMPA BAY, Fla.—Papa John’s stores around the Tampa Bay area sent a message to make it clear their stores did not share the same thoughts and opinions as the founder and former chairman of the board John Schnatter.

Schnatter resigned from the company he built after he admitted he used the N-word during a conference call in May.
