ODESSA, Fla. — A fan-favorite local brewing company has poured its final craft beer in Pasco County.
Big Storm Brewing Co. announced this week that it has closed the doors of its Odessa location. Its last day of service was May 18.
The company didn't share its reason for closing, but said the announcement was made "with mixed emotions."
"We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support over the nearly 10 years we've been part of the Pasco community. Your patronage has meant the world to us," Big Storm said in a statement.
Big Storm highlighted how Pasco County has blossomed over the past decade into a destination for families to gather for food and drink, adding that it is proud to have been part of that growth.
Luckily, Pasco County residents won't have to go far to get a taste of Big Storm's craft brews and spirits. They will continue to be served at several local restaurants.
And the staff at the Odessa location will be taken care of, too. The company shared that all full-time employees will be moving over to the Pinellas County taproom in Clearwater.
"We are committed to supporting Pasco and look forward to being part of its future in new and exciting ways," the company said. "Thank you once again for your incredible support. We hope to see you soon in one of our other locations."
More than 100 patrons commented on the announcement on Facebook. While they were saddened by the abrupt closing, several shared that they will continue to support the company at its other locations in Clearwater, Ybor City and Orlando.
"This is very sad news! The Pasco location had the best staff & best overall experience...where you felt like a person, not a table/seat number," one patron said.
"Wow, where it all started! Shocked but glad for your growth," another added.
