TAMPA BAY, Fla. - The Humane Society of Tampa Bay helped reunite a man with his dog Friday after two years of separation.
The dog named Maxy was stolen from the man's car at a truck stop in Texas, according to a Facebook post from the Humane Society.
Someone brought Maxy to the Humane Society as a stray dog.
Maxy was microchipped, which helped the Humane Society track down the dog's owner.
"Having just suffered the loss of his wife, he was beyond devastated to lose Maxy as well and has been searching for his faithful companion ever since," the Facebook post reads.
The dog owner drove from Texas to Tampa Bay to reunite with Maxy.
