Need live music this Thanksgiving weekend? Here's where to look in Tampa Bay

Looking to work off your Thanksgiving feast? Here are some of the best bars with live music venues in Tampa Bay to dance the night away.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — As Tampa Bay locals prepare for Thanksgiving weekend, some may be looking to get out after their feast and hear what the area's music scene has to offer.

Looking to work off your Thanksgiving feast? 10 Tampa Bay is here to provide a list of some of the best live music bars in the area to grab a drink and dance the night away.

Ruby's Elixir

Live music seven nights a week. Need we say more? Located in downtown St. Pete, Ruby's Elixir boasts a robust revolving line of top-notch musicians from the Tampa Bay area, including blues guitar sensation Branson Welsh, accomplished jazz bassist Hiram Hazley and his trio, and locally revered songwriter Kirk Adams to name a few.

And, if you play music yourself, there's a good chance you'll be invited onstage to play at one of the bar's open jam sessions.

Hooch and Hive

Located in Tampa's West Riverfront neighborhood, Hooch and Hive will have plenty of events this Thanksgiving weekend to satisfy live music cravings. Wednesday night, the bar will host a Thanksgiving Eve event with DJ Knox with Eminent for a night of hip-hop and funk starting at 8 p.m.

Crowbar

Ybor City's Crowbar has plenty of styles that Tampa Bay locals can enjoy, ranging from rock and hip-hop to punk and indie music. Wednesday at 8 p.m., Crowbar will host its Drunken Turkey Fry featuring artists DJ Faz, Kid Loki, Psych Montano and Louis Junior. Later, three turkeys will be deep-fried for guests to enjoy for $10 a plate.

The Pink Piano

Live in the Polk County area? Look no further than Lakeland's The Pink Piano. Located in the town's Dixieland Historic District, the venue offers an intimate setting for locals to enjoy a variety of drinks while hearing some of the areas best local musicians.

For those living in Sarasota, Big Top Brewing has your live music cravings covered. On Wednesday, Nov. 27 the Kara Nally Band will provide the tunes as locals enjoy the bar's Friendsgiving event at 6 p.m.
